Raisa's trio consists of a solo-, rhythm-guitars and a double bass. Originally inspired by the legendary Django Reinhardt and the traditional Gipsy jazz, Raisa have evolved along the years gaining their own unique sound; a fine balance of traditional Gipsy and American jazz, with one main importance: 'real swing'.
As founded in the gipsy jazz, Raisa are capable to perform a tastefully performed traditional gipsy and American jazz crafted together in a real loose and swingy way. The Line up of Raisa is Bart Rozemeyer, Andreas Metzler and Florian Hierdeis. To keep the trio and their music fresh for listeners and for themselves to play they often invite guest musicians to play with them. Often the group is joined by great musicians like David Golek on guitar, Ton Derksen on soprano-saxophone, Els Teunissen on vocals, Benni von Gutzeit on viola and others. (watch the video's down) Raisa's main musicians have played many venues in the Netherlands and further afield including the Montreux Jazz festival (Switzerland), Terrassa Jazz (Spain), Lion's Jazz, Harlem Jazz Club (Spain), Ferrarra buskers (Italy), Bimhuis, radio-shows, Rapenburg concerten... and on many occasions have enjoyed the opportunity to play with musicians as Juliano Reinhardt, the Rosenberg Trio (see gallery), Bireli Lagrene, Saskia Laroo, Jos Machtel, Berend van den Berg... |
