CD Raisa 'is back in town' ‘Is Back in Town’, Raisa’s second cd, this time with Benni von Gutzeit. While Raisa’s first cd demonstrated the group’s skill in gypsy-jazz music and a classical gypsy-jazz repertoire, this new cd shows the evolution of the group’s own particular sound. Although the group’s gypsy-jazz foundations have remained intact, the influence of old American swing is unmistakable, and they have also recorded a South-American composition, a waltz and a jive. Their versatility is further demonstrated in two numbers by Thelonious Monk. With the exception of ‘Die Moritat von Mäckie Messer’, all arrangements are by Raisa. After great success at home and abroad last year with Benni, Raisa now welcomes him as a guest to their trio formation. On this cd they appear together as a quartet.
