Raisa swing collective is leaded by Bart Rozemeyer. Raisa's base is a trio instrumented with a solo-guitarist, rhythm-guitarist and a double-bass player. The personal of this base is mostly fulfilled by Florian Hierdeis or David Golek, Bart Rozemeyer and Andreas Metzler. Raisa also appears in other line-up. For instance supplemented with great musicians as Ton Derksen on saxophone (soprano and tenor), Lils Mackintosh with vocals or Benni von Gutzeit on viola. Originally inspired by the legendary Django Reinhardt and the traditional gipsy jazz, Raisa has evolved along the years gaining their own unique sound; a fine balance of traditional gipsy-jazz and American jazz, with one main essence: 'real swing'. Raisa's main musicians have played many venues in the Netherlands and further afield including the Montreux Jazz festival (Switzerland), Terrassa Jazz (Spain), Lion's Jazz, Harlem Jazz Club (Spain), Ferrarra buskers (Italy), Bimhuis, radio-shows, Rapenburg concerten, various television- and radio-shows and more. On many occasions have enjoyed the opportunity to play with musicians as Juliano Reinhardt, the Rosenberg Trio (see gallery), Bireli Lagrene, Saskia Laroo, Jos Machtel, Berend van den Berg, Sven Schuster and more. |
